my mother

In 2011 my mother was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer.  We were blessed to have her with us for 6 more years.  Now, for the past three weeks, we have been steadily caring for her and did our best to bring her to peace.

God, full of mercy, Who dwells above, give rest on the wings of your Divine Presence, amongst the holy who shine like the sky, to the soul of my mother... O Merciful One, please shelter her forever under the wings of Thy presence.  Amen.

  1. Peggy, your pictures of your mom shook me because they're so much like mine of my mom...they wore very similar veils at their weddings. A profound loss for you and your family and words are so inadequate. Thinking of you and what it must mean to lose your first love. 💗

  2. Sending you all the love. Am thinking about you and those boys. I know, to some degree at least, how very hard this is for you. I'm not great with words (as you know), but know that I'm here for you all the time and please do let me know if there's anything at all I can do for you.

  7. Such loss. Oh my, prayers for you and yours to know peace like a river. I know that dark and lonesome valley. Be good to yourself.

  8. There are never enough words to say how sorry I am for the loss of a close one. But know that our love for one another remains throughout our lifetime and her laughter and the gifts she instilled in you with her love will always be with you. May the hurt fade with time but the love and memories blossom and help you through. With love from across the oceans, Katja

  10. Peggy I am so sorry about the passing of your lovely Mother! Sandra was always so sweet to me when I escaped to your house and I always thought she was an awesome mom! I'm so happy that she could be a Grandma to your boys before the angels took her. Sending you and your family all my love, and hugs. Dawn ❤

  12. Peggy, I am so sorry to read this. I saw that you had posted about your Mom but I hadn't found the chance until now to read them. I hope your beautiful memories help during this difficult time. It is never easy to lose a parent and I am profoundly sad for all of you.
